Peer Support

Assert Peer Support Group

The Peer Support Group meets the first Friday of every month to allow people with Asperger’s and High Functioning Autism to communicate with each other on issues they would like to explore.  Each session has one or more topics or tlaks to be discussed in an environment that promotes people on the spectrum to talk freely without pressure to translate communications into neurotypical language. This is an opportunity to share experiences and to learn from each other in an attempt to understand ourselves better and the neurotypical world we have to navigate through.

“it was a pleasure to be around so many people who know exactly who they are and who they want to be in the world, on their terms!.”
